When we worked at IBM/Lotus Consulting, our team was often called upon to solve the most difficult technical and business challenges a client could present. For example, if a client had a particularly complex development project, or a critical program was behind schedule, or a key application wasn't performing up to expectations, our team would be mobilized to sweep in and fix it. For this reason, we became known as the "Power Team." Refining our skills on one high-pressure project after another, we saw a great opportunity to leverage the way our abilities, personalities and philosophies meshed to provide valuable services to a much wider range of clients. From this idea, PowerTeam was born.
